HANYU Four of Clubs 58%

$22000.00

Single cask from Hanyu distilled in 1991, aged in hogsheads, then matured in rum casks and bottled in 2007 as part of the “Ichiro's malt card series”. After the closure of his grandfather's distillery, Hanyu, Ichiro Akuto decided to buy back the remaining cases before demolition its in 2004. He then had the idea of bottling a large proportion of these casks as single casks, assigning each cask a playing card. According to Ichiro Akuto, this was the best way for the public to identify and remember them. A simple, so practical idea gave birth to one of the world's most sought-after whisky collections. The card series included 58 bottlings: 52 cards, 2 jokers and 4 cards that have been given a second bottling (Ace of Spades, Queen of Hearts, King of Diamonds and Jack of Clubs). The first bottling of the card series saw the light of day in 2005, and the series came to an end in 2014 with the release of the two jokers. The polychrome joker is the only bottling in the series to be a blend of several casks. Limited edition of 266 bottles.
