OLD BARDSTOWN Bourbon

$34.99

In the 1940’s Willett Distillery introduced Old Bardstown Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Born in 1952, Old Bardstown was an American Thoroughbred racehorse named after the city of Bardstown, Kentucky. Old Bardstown was one of the top racing horses of his time. Old Bardstown Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey pays homage to the legacy of the American Thoroughbred. The bourbon is made from a mash of 72% Corn - 13% Rye - 15% Barley, which is milled and mashed before being fermented with Kentucky limestone water. Following fermentation, the wash is distilled before the bourbon is matured for several years in new, American oak casks. Then, the bourbon is brought to 90 proof before being bottled. It reveals its notes of sweet honey, vanilla, dusted in floral notes making it very accessible, while a hint of spice and oak add a perfect depth for a tasting, or used in your favorite cocktail. The current labels are reproductions of Old Bardstown labels that were in the family’s portfolio when Thompson Willett was President.
